At Northfield, we love Maths! Our children enjoy a wide range of activities in their Maths lessons, and we use the concrete, pictoral, abstract approach to learning. Every child has access to concrete resources in order to deepen their understanding. We believe fluency in times tables and calculation is also important.
Each week the children practise their tables and try to move up a level on the challenge. Children are encouraged to practise at home, alongside their Maths homework. it is our aim that by the end of Year 4 all children will know their times tables to 12 x 12 by heart.
