Junior School

Harvest 2018

Harvest was a fantastic success this year due to the number of people who attended! We started the morning off as usual with bacon and sausage sandwiches and served 200 breakfasts this year. We would like to say a big thank you to Stephen and his team at Moss Valley Fine Meats, who provide the meat and come and cook everything for us to eat. They have just received new awards for their sausages including a gin sausage. You can order from their website in the link below.

After a tasty breakfast, the whole school headed outside to take part in outdoor activities whilst the hall was quickly rearranged for assembly. We had an army of parents helpers in the alloment, who helped to ready the garden for Winter. In addition to this parents were working hard all over the grounds to tidy and clear beds. A big thank you to everyone who came and helped, you were stars! Y3/4 also made stick pyramids and Y5/6 made pictures with leaves.

The outdoor activities soon came to an end and we trooped back inside for our food themedHarvest assembly. The children were fantastic as they delivered their poems, plays and songs. We had several competition winners too. Darcey guessed the weight of the pumpkin and got to take it home and our Fruity Animal Competition winners received their prizes. Well done to Luke Y6, Heidi Y5, Amelia Y4 and Ethan Y3 for your winning entries. The standard was really high this year and we had lots of difficult decisions to make, thank you to the governors who came to judge.

Everyone had a marvellous time and we wish you a fun-filled and relaxing half term.
