The activities were fun and the leaders were very helpful. One Y5 child said, “My favourite was the 75m sprint because sprinting is my favourite event.” Another said, “I liked the relay because we had to work together.” We also did long jump and a vortex howler throw.
It was hard work training for it, but worth it as it was a great day out.
We did archery, caber tossing (which you had to try and flip over), bean bag targets and then we moved on to making our own obstacle courses. We tried playing netball kneeling and other team games were fun too. One Y3 child said, “My favourite activity was the caber tossing because it was really fun.” Another said, “My favourite was the archery because I like hitting the target.” Lots of the children said they would like to do archery back in school!
