On 18th June 2019, Years 3 and 4 went on a trip to the Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield. The weather was very kind to us and allowed us to have a fantastic day out, observing many of the wonderful areas with lots of interesting animals along the way. The children loved feeding some of the animals as they made their way around the different sections and were very intrigued to learn about Meerkats and Lemurs in the scheduled daily encounters. Each of our 3 classes got the chance to take part in a guided talk which involved learning about the climate and getting up close with the animals that belong in a tropical rainforest. Many of our children were lucky enough to hold and touch some of the exotic animals which included Snakes, Tarantulas, Praying Mantis, Scorpions and many more. The children learnt lots of interesting facts throughout the trip which will be very beneficial back at school as we continue studying our ‘Amazing Amazon’ topic.
