On Wednesday 15th June, Year 4 participated in a dance platform at The Winding Wheel in Chesterfield. Throughout the summer term, the children had been learning about the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 and helped to choreograph a routine that included different sports from the Commonwealth Games. We wanted to celebrate diversity, unity and success through sports. Our events included parasports and we represented Commonwealth countries by waving flags as spectators.
Here’s what some of our children thought about the event:
“It was fun on the stage because I got to dance in front of lots of people,” Patience.
“I was nervous before going on the stage but didn’t feel scared afterwards,” Rhys.
“I was nervous to go on the stage because of how many people were there. Afterwards, I felt proud because I achieved and overcame my stage fright,” Arla.
“I enjoyed it because we could show the effort we put into it,” Oswin.
Pictures of this event will be coming soon!
