  • N Factor 2023

    Fri 31 Mar 2023

Everyone has a fantastic afternoon yesterday watching our super talented acts perform a variety of interesting things. We had dancing, singing, gymnastics, piano playing and jokes.

The School Council worked hard to organise the event beforehand and run it smoothly, and lots of parents attended to watch too.

It was a really hard job to choose the winners, and the scores were really close. Well done to all of our winners and all who took part.

Mrs Housley also ran the infamous Easter raffle. Thank you to all who donated eggs and bought tickets. We raised £350 for school funds.

  • Y3 Art Gallery

    Sat 04 Mar 2023

On Friday 3rd March, Y3 held an art gallery for the rest of the school and parents to visit. This was part of our new Scheme of Work from Access Art.

To create their landscape pieces Y3 looked at the artists Alice Kettle and Hannah Rae for inspiration around work which involved cloth, thread and paint. They then used their work in Geography to inspire them to create a UK landscape using paint and thread on their cloth. The finished pieces look amazing and everyone who visited the gallery was amazed.

We will show off our artwork by displaying it in school, before the children take it home.

  • World Book Day 2023

    Sat 04 Mar 2023

At Northfield we love to read! On Thursday 2nd March we took part in World Book Day. There was lots of speculation over what the teachers would dress up as and excitement from the children over their costumes.

When the day finally arrived the children were surprised yet excited to find that all of the staff had dressed as Mr Men and Little Miss characters, amongst them we had some old favourites such as Mr Bump and Mr Tickle, as well as some newer characters such as Little Miss Cold and Little Miss Bookworm.

There were some excellent character costumes from the children a well- we had characters from authors such as Roald Dahl, David Walliams and Dr Suess, as well as a whole host of others, and even some Mr Men too!

The day was Mr Men themed and all children designed their own Mr Man or Little Miss character and made a Mr Men or Little Miss Book. These were really fun to make and are going to go on display in our school library.
