  • Y3 Roman Day

    Thu 29 Jun 2023

Our Year 3s had an unforgettable day immersing themselves in the world of ancient Rome during their Roman day! They truly embraced the spirit of the Roman era, putting some incredible effort into their costumes and fully embracing the Roman era. From building shrines to the mighty gods and goddesses, to perfecting their fighting stances like brave soldiers, and even testing their skills with catapults, our incredible Year 3s got a taste of life in ancient Rome.

"I really enjoyed Roman day. My favourite part was when we built the bridge as a team". - Tilly

"The Roman day was really fun and exciting. Me and Gracie were laughing all day because we were having so much fun". - Mabel

"My favourite part was when we built the Roman archway and learning how the Romans made it". - Joe

"On Roman day, I enjoyed everything. The thing I enjoyed the most was when we used ink to write a message to a Roman goddess". - Ivy

  • Sports Day

    Thu 22 Jun 2023

On Thursday 15th June, the whole school enjoyed a sunny, fun-filled afternoon of sports! The house teams competed for the prestigious Sports Day trophy and they represented their house teams brilliantly. It was a great day and lovely to see so many parents joining us to watch the children complete their events. We saw different Spirit of the Games values throughout the afternoon: teamwork, passion, determination and self-belief to get through the finish line first. We heard the children ‘encouraging each other to do well’ – our school motto! We also celebrated all the amazing sporting achievements that have happened throughout the year.

Well done to this year’s winners…The Sapphires!

Here’s what some of our children thought:

“It was amazing, brilliant and challenging,” Arla.

“I thought Sports Day was: fun, enjoyable and competitive,” Alisha.

“It was fun. My favourite event was the relay because everyone was a team and I like using teamwork,” Reuben.

“I loved the sack race. We got to jump far!” Jack C.

“My favourite race was the relay because I love running,” Farley.

  • London 2023

    Tue 13 Jun 2023

We had an absolutely fabulous time on our Year 6 London trip this year! It was jam-packed two days and we loved it!

It started with us getting to school super early- 7am- to get on the coach ready to go down to London. Everyone arrived with their cases packed and few stow-away teddies on board too!

On day 1 we visited the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum before popping off to Pizza Express for some tea. Ella said 'I learnt really interesting things from the two museums and I learnt about things I didn't even know had ever existed!'

After tea we were off to the Cambridge Theatre to see Matilda. It was fantastic, we loved all of the songs and the experience of being in a West End theatre. Molly said 'I enjoyed seeing Matilda because the show was really good and the scenes were really entertaining.'

Our hostel accommodation was lovely and we had a great night's sleep before our second day.

On our second day we set off for the National Gallery as our first stop. We loved looking at the painting and recognised quite a few of the famous ones! From the National Gallery we walked down to Buckingham Palace and stopped in St James' Park for a picnic lunch. We popped across to Horse Guard's Parade and down to Downing Street before seeing the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. It was finally time for a sit down on our river cruise on the Thames. We had a great time listening to facts about London.

Our final event was a trip on the London Eye before setting off home.
