It is my pleasure and privilege to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Northfield Junior School. From the moment I first stepped foot into the school, I felt an instant affinity with Mrs Timperley, the children, the staff and the magnificent grounds.
I have been teaching for 14 years. Initially I was based in Doncaster, however in 2011, I moved to Derbyshire. I have spent my career teaching throughout Key Stage 2, most recently in a Year 5 class. I became Deputy Headteacher of Stonebroom Primary & Nursery School in December 2020.
Throughout my time in education, I have always recognised the important role a parent or carer plays in their child’s education therefore I will strive to create positive relationships at all times. I look forward to inviting you into school to experience the broad, vibrant and balanced curriculum the school has to offer.
Rest assured, your child is my number one priority as I endeavour to help them become kind, respectful, resilient and responsible children who are ready for the diverse world around them. I am looking forward to working with the staff and your child to ensure they become curious, enthusiastic, life long learners.
I have an open-door policy. I will be available on the gate most mornings and afternoons. If you are unable to speak to me directly, please contact school on 01246 413134 or email parent@northfield.derbyshire.sch.uk so a time can be arranged to discuss any issues.
Finally, within the welcome video on the school website, a child said “I feel safe because we all know each other and everyone feels like my family.” I cannot wait to greet you all and become part of the Northfield Junior School family.
