Choir at St John’s
The Northfield choir visited the Christmas Tree Festival at St. John's church on Thursday to see all the lovely trees and showcase the songs that they have been learning over the last few weeks. It was fantastic to see so many parents attend and all of the children sang their hearts out. We had some amazing soloists, and we are extremely proud of all of the children in the choir.
Santa Dash
Report by Isabelle.
On Friday, in the school grounds, an exciting event was happening – the Santa Dash! Sadly, last year it was cancelled due to weather conditions. The children loved the Santa Dash as they had an opportunity to run around for 20 minutes non-stop. All the adults were very supportive. Some even dressed up as mascots. The school council set up a stall to help raise awareness of children who don’t get presents so you could donate some toys or stationery as long as it was new. The stall was brilliant. Let’s hope it raised a lot!
Thank you very much to Isabelle for reporting on the superb event. Thanks must also go to you, the parents, for making the event special for all of our children.
Christmas Present Appeal
WOW! We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of the school community. The amount of presents that have been donated for children less fortunate than us was a joy to behold. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that donated but also thank the school council for their wonderful idea. It is a shining example of how superb our Northfield family is!
Christmas Art Day
Report by Marnie.
Christmas Art Day was a very fun day. It was probably one of the best days in the school year. We started by customising and colouring our own unique snow globe which was really exciting. Then we finished some of our paintings and drawing, including our calendar, a polar bear picture and colourful party hats. It was extremely fun and interesting. Mr Walmsley even quizzed us on Christmas. It was a very fun day!
Thank you Marnie for your write up about Christmas Art Day – we were all impressed with the art work that the children created.
Straw & Order Performances
Report by Alex and Jess
We had a great time doing our play, Straw and Order. We spent hours practising and we tried our best. We are so proud of ourselves. The best part was saying our lines and performing the songs. It was very amusing and there was a lot of funny lines to say.
We hoped you enjoyed it.
Personally, I (Mr W.) think that the performances were superb – there was an electric atmosphere at both evening productions. I would also like to reiterate that I am proud of each and everyone one of them – they were superstars!
Christmas Dinner
Report by Joe
The dinner was really good as there was a lot of different foods on option and some of them I hadn’t tried before like Brussel sprouts. I had the vegetarian dinner and it was really good and everything was cooked perfectly and it tasted perfect. I got to sit with all my friends which was really cool. I liked the music and the party after in the afternoon.
Christmas Parties
Report by Archie.
We had a great Christmas party. We played musical statues in the hall and musical chairs. We also danced to just dance. We played four corners which was fun. In addition, Mr Walmsley dress as a naughty elf!
Report by Toby
I loved the party because we got to play pass the parcel and I won! We got snap bands and got to play musical statues. I loved doing the quiz because it was really fun. I liked the Christmas songs and Rockin' around the Christmas Tree.
