Christmas at Northfield is always a brilliant time filled with lots of different events. We kicked off Christmas with our Christmas Art Day on Thursday 30th November. All of the children got crafty making their Christmas cards, 2024 calendars and a decoration. Y6 also visited St John's church to sing Christmas Carols and have a sneak peek at the Christmas trees before the Christmas Tree Festival began. All of the Y6's were excited and impressed by the entries for the Christmas tree festival.
Our Maker skills were put to the test preparing our entries in which we 3D printed hanging decorations to go inside a clear bauble and used our new Cricut machine to create vinyl labels for the outside.
Our show this year was 'Aladdin Trouble' and Y5/6 took to the stage in their wonderful pantomime costumes as the main parts. The rest of the school glittered as the jewels in the cave, and provided the choir singing for the show. Miss Tuck and Mrs Hay were impressed by how quickly the children learnt their lines and how the children's confidence grew.
Unfortunately, the weather scuppered our Santa Dash but Miss Burton had a plan B! We all enjoyed joining in Strictly Santa and had a dance in the hall instead. This was followed by Christmas hat making and Christmas dinner.
Finally, the pantomime came to visit on the last day of term. Everyone had a great time watching Jack and the Beanstalk and we all felt very Christmassy and ready for the holidays.
