The wet weather couldn't dampen our spirits for Harvest this year! Despite the mizzle, we went ahead with our Harvest celebrations and it was great to finally feel like we were back to normal!
We started the day off with our infamous breakfast with sausage and bacon cobs. A big thank you to Stephen and his team from Moss Valley Fine Meats, who provided the meat and came and cooked for us! We served over 150 breakfasts before 9am and it was lovely to see the whole school community, including some past pupils, join us to share food and conversation.
After breakfast the whole school ventured outside for outdoor learning. Miss Jones would like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents and pupils who came to help in the grounds and allotment to prepare for winter- such a lot was achieved in a short space of time with some fun and laughter as well. We collected raspberries, carrots, green beans, apples and lettuce from the allotment before digging over the beds for winter.
The finale was a Harvest assembly, in which all classes presented something that they had prepared about Harvest. Year 3 talked about Harvest around the world, Year 4 performed a poem, Year 5 shared facts about Harvest and Year 6 performed a song. Rev. Elliot George, from St Phillip's Church also popped in to join us for Harvest and introduce himself as he is new to the area.
There are some lovely photos in our Gallery for you to take a look at here.
The Moss Valley are also taking orders of their meat for Christmas, which can be found here.
