During Thursday’s Reading Morning, a group of children and their adults joined author Pete Lamden to listen to his latest book ‘My name is Cato’. The children then chose a book to take home and were interviewed on why they had chosen that book. They were amazing with their descriptions and not at all camera shy – the Twinkl crew were amazed at how confident they were. Below are a few behind the scene pictures until we can share the full edit.
Mabel picks up the report from her point of view:
We went into the library and answered some questions on what a blurb and a prologue was with our parents. Then we read the start of the book. When we had finished the chapter, we discussed what had happened and what we thought would happen. After this, our parents left and we got to choose a Twinkl book that we would like and that we had already read and we were interviewed about the book and why we choose it. I felt like I was doing a movie. We were doing an interview and there were lots of lights and cameras and if we said something wrong, we were allowed to do it again. The experience was not as I expected it to be but it was really fun. I was surprised we got to have the author read his book to us.
It certainly was a superb experience for the children and we would like to thank Mrs Moran for organising the event and Twinkl for joining our Reading Morning.
